Increase online fashion sales by £134m a year
Increasing the download speed of a page, coupled with the provision of detailed information which actually slows down the purchasing process but helps the shopper bond with a product, could increase online fashion sales by more than £134m a year, according to research by retail operations specialists Envision Retail.
Experience counts for everything and this team has it in abundance. We started in 1997, a heady 10 years ago, dreaming of selling our products on the internet and back then created an e-commerce platform which eventually became the first Jessops web store launched in 1999.
Having done this we wanted to create a product for the masses and in the days when there was only one or two e-commerce shop products out there we launched a web platform (we called it Get Trolleyed) which, over time, was the e-commerce platform for nearly 300 small entrepreneurial stores who started selling on the web for just a few hundred pounds.
We grew with our customers and the confidence in the Internet which stuttered through the early 21st Century but in the last couple of years has grown exponentially. Three years ago an idea of creating a store that would have the ability to run multiple stores from the same interface and data pool was born. The e-commerce platform became a reality in 2005 with many stores now online taking millions of pounds and making more margin from the features the e-commerce software now affords them.
As a business we don’t just use this knowledge to our advantage we use it for all our customers. Often we will be the driving sales force behind getting your products in front of millions of eyes. Of course the product mix and prices are generally down to you (you know them best), but online we will probably know your competitors if not certainly the effect they are having on market share.
